From drawing to erected steel#

MAGWHIRL fabricates and erects the steelwork that industrial plant is built on and around — access platforms, pipe racks, equipment supports, tanks and heavier structural assemblies.

Scope#

• Storage tanks and process vessels
• Pipe racks and cable-tray supports
• Access platforms, walkways, stairs and handrails
• Equipment skids, frames and support structures
• Structural steel erection and modification

Quality control#

Welding is inspected against the procedure it was qualified to, not against opinion. Fit-up, root runs, and final passes each get looked at, and dimensional control happens in the shop where a correction is cheap rather than at height where it is not.

Surface preparation and protective coating are treated as part of the fabrication scope. Steel that arrives on site with a compromised coating system is a maintenance liability the client did not order.

Erection around live plant#

Most of the steel we erect goes into facilities that are still running. That constrains everything: lift plans have to account for live lines, hot work needs isolation and a permit, and the programme has to survive the fact that the plant's operations take priority over ours.

We plan erection sequences around those constraints from the start rather than discovering them during mobilisation.
